32nd Arak hamyar Meeting 2025/11/10

Activity Update: Welding Workshop Support and Impact
Overview: A welding workshop was established for an individual through the provision of essential equipment and raw materials, including metal tubing and sheets, with an estimated total value of approximately 80 million tomans.
Progress Update: The individual began operating the workshop following the support provided. A recent follow-up was conducted through a family member to confirm whether the business was still active and to obtain photos or other evidence of ongoing operations.
Impact and Outcome: During the follow-up, it was learned that the individual had reportedly been contemplating suicide before receiving assistance. This information highlighted the significant personal and emotional impact of the intervention, beyond its economic benefits.
A direct conversation was subsequently held with the individual to learn more about his experience. He was invited to share his story with the group to help members better understand the broader impact of their support.
Key Takeaway: The initiative demonstrates how targeted livelihood support can contribute not only to income generation and self-employment but also to restoring hope, dignity, and a sense of purpose. The continued operation of the workshop is an encouraging indication of the positive impact of the assistance provided.
Follow-up / Documentation:
- Share the audio recording of the individual's testimony with the group.
- Share photographs of the welding workshop as supporting documentation.
- Highlight the case as an example of the potential social and economic impact of livelihood assistance.
Conclusion: The case underscores the importance of livelihood support initiatives in improving individual well-being and creating opportunities for sustainable self-employment. It also reinforces the value of follow-up activities in documenting outcomes and understanding the real-life impact of assistance.
Farshad:
Do you remember the welding workshop we helped set up for someone? We provided the necessary equipment and raw materials, including metal tubing and sheets, with a total value of approximately 80 million tomans, if I remember correctly.
He started his business, and recently, I asked my father to check in on him and see if he was still working. I was hoping he could share a photo or an update with the group so we could celebrate the fact that, thankfully, the workshop was still running and he was continuing his work.
But what my father told me really moved me. Apparently, before we helped him, this man had been contemplating suicide. I was so deeply affected by this that I contacted him personally to hear his story. I asked him if he would be willing to share his experience with our group, so that we could understand the other side of the story and truly appreciate the impact of our support.
Honestly, we made a miracle happen.
I am incredibly grateful to God for this group and for the amazing people in it. This is a powerful reminder that sometimes, what we provide is about so much more than equipment, materials, or financial assistance. It can give someone a renewed sense of purpose, hope, and a reason to keep going.
I’m going to share the audio recording of his story and photos of the workshop with you now.
